Urban bodies to sign MoUs with progressive gaushalas

Bhopal, June 26, 2019 (Ataullah Faizan): Urban bodies will sign MoUs with nearby progressive gaushalas for conservation of bovine. Setting up of Gobar gas and organic manure plants near the gaushalas will be encouraged. Arrangements will be made to accommodate the city’s stray cattle also in the gaushalas for which grant will be given by the government. This was stated by Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Jaivardhan Singh while inspecting a gaushala and organic manure plant at Doob Berkhedi near Sukhi Sevaniya.
Minister Shri Singh said that self-help groups will be constituted through the National Urban Livelihood Mission and encouraged to operate the gaushalas. He said that granting subsidy in the electricity bill for organic manure and Gobar gas plant will also be considered. Shri Singh apprised himself with the techniques of making manure, slurry and gas in Dayoday Energy Organic Manure Plant.
Shri Jaivardhan Singh said that the local administration would also help in the sale of gaushala products including organic fertilizer, gaunile and gaukashtha. The gaushalas will be provided assistance in government schemes for shed construction, hay godowns etc.
Patanjali buys organic manure
Director of Sri Dayoday Energy and Organic Manure Plant told that the organic manure produced in the plant is being purchased by Patanjali Sansthan. About 1200 kg methane emanating from 75 tonne cowdung in the biogas plant is filled in cylinders used for commercial purpose. Along with this, 25 tonnes of organic manure is produced. Meanwhile, Additional Commissioner of the Directorate of Urban Development Shri Pankaj Jain, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Bhopal Shri Vijay Dutta and other officials were present.
