Public awareness essential for water conservation and promotion: Minister Shri Patwari

Bhopal, August 31, 2019 (Muslim Saleem): Higher Education, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Jitu Patwari said that water conservation and promotion is an urgent need today. There is a lot of rainfall in the state. We can only conserve about 8 percent of that rainfall. More rainwater can be stored through stop dams, puddles-pits, farm-ponds and water recharging systems. Minister Shri Patwari was addressing the Krishi Vigyan Mela at Lakshmibai Krishi Upaj Mandi Parisar at Indore. Minister Shri Patwari said that special efforts are being made by the Central and state government in the direction of water conservation. Public awareness campaign is being conducted for this. He said that the state government is committed to waiving loans of up to Rs 2 lakh of all eligible farmers. Electricity bill of farmers has also been reduced from Rs 1400 to Rs 700. Soil health cards will be distributed to the farmers in the second fortnight of September. MP Shri Shankar Lalwani was also present on the occasion.
