1st September 2019
Bhopal, September 1, 2019 (Ataullah Faizan): Vivek Tankha, MP in Rajya Sabha and Senior Advocate in the Supreme Court, met Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Saturday. During this, Tankha said that privatization should be stopped in 41 ordnance factories across the country. He said that the employees at the Ordnance Factory in Jabalpur were on strike to protest privatization, which affected the defense production. Tankha said that Jabalpur has four major ordnance manufacturing units like Gun Carriage Factory, Vehicle Factory, Ordnance Factory and Gray Iron Foundry, which are facing shortage of staff. There were 1 lakh people working in the four factories, whose number has come down to 10,000. Defense cluster should be created in Jabalpur, so that youth can get new employment opportunities. Tankha has also submitted a proposal to the Chief Minister in this regard.
