Lays foundation stone for Metro Rail Project
Bhopal, September 26, 2019 (Muslim Saleem): The Chief Minister, Shri Kamal Nath said that Bhopal Metro Rail Project will be known as Bhoj Metro Rail. First corridor of the project will be from Karond circle to AIIMS and second from Bhandbhada to Ratnagiri Square to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 7000 crore. Shri Kamal Nath laid the foundation stone here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Nath said that expansion of basic amenities must match the growth of cities in order to keep cities safe and beautiful. Shri Nath performed Bhoomipujan for Bhopal Metro Rail Project today. Minister In-charge of Bhopal district Cooperative Minister Dr. Govind Singh and Mineral Development Minister Shri Pradeep Jaiswal were present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister said that a new chapter of development has been added today. He said that metro rail project is important for serving the needs of growing population. He informed about the master plan of cities saying that the purpose is to ensure a fully equipped city to the new generations.
Referring to the development of Noida and Gurgaon near Delhi, he said that without them, the situations in New Delhi can be well imagined. Therefore, planning for the expansion of cities must be made on time.
The Chief Minister said that cities should be clean, smart. It is also important to change our outlook in the era of change. Every citizen should contribute towards the task of making the cities clean, beautiful and systematic.
Minister for Urban Development and Housing Shri Jayawardhan Singh said that the much awaited Metro Rail dream of Bhopal city is now being unrolled. Time schedule has been fixed. He said that the first line of this project has been fixed at 2022. He said that the Chief Minister has been making continuous efforts for the development and expansion of urban areas. He informed that two corridors will be built in the project. First corridor will be built from Karond Circle to AIIMS and the second from Bhadbhada intersection to Ratnagiri intersection. The total cost of which will be seven thousand crores.
Minister for Minority Welfare and Backward Classes, Shri Arif Aqueel said that Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath is making efforts for the development of Bhopal the same manner as was done by late President of India, Shri Shankardayal Sharma.
Public Relations Minister Shri P.C. Sharma said that the people of Bhopal are grateful to Chief Minister, who has given this gift to the people of Bhopal.
Shri P.C. Sharma said that as Union Minister, Shri Nath has been continuously giving huge funds for the development of Bhopal.
The Narmada water, which Bhopal’s residents are having today is a gift of Chief Minister Shri Nath. He said that a lot of projects are underway. This will not only increase the pace of development, but also help plan other activities.
Mayor Bhopal Shri Alok Sharma also spoke on the occasion. Local MLA Shir Arif Masood gave a vote of thanks . Kailash Mishra, ex MP Shri Ram Krishna Kusmaria, Shri Aslam Sher Khan and citizens of Bhopal in a large number were present.
