Availability of essential commodities to be ensured in MP: Minister Shri Tomar

Instructions to control prices and availability of diesel, petrol and gas
Bhopal, October 7, 2019 (Ataullah Faizan): The Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar said that the supply of essential commodities in the state will not be affected due to the strike of truck-transporters in the country. Supply will be ensured by the state government. He informed that all district collectors have been instructed to control the prices of diesel, petrol and cooking gas as well as other essential items.
The Principal Secretary Food-Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Smt. Neelam Shami Rao has said that under the provisions of the Essential Commodities Act, the petrol/diesel and gas agency dealers are bound to maintain adequate availability of essential commodities. She said that a necessary legal action will be taken against the dealers, if they do not maintain sufficient stock. Smt. Rao reiterated that it is mandatory for diesel / petrol and LPG dealers to ensure 100% stock availability. She said that LPG and petrol products are being supplied continuously by the oil companies. District Collectors have been asked to provide adequate security to these companies. It is also advised to keep a watch on the prices of essential commodities.
Food Minister appeals to transporters
Minister Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar has appealed to the office-bearers of the Truck-Transporters Union to end their strike in public interest, keeping in view the festival like Diwali. He said that this will help the common consumer to overcome the problems.
