Decision to build 3 thousand Gou-Shalas next year: Directives to complete preparations by December CM Shri Kamal Nath reviews Project Gou-Shala Bhopal, October 11, 2019 (Ataullah Faizan): The Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath has directed to accelerate the construction of one thousand Gou-Shalas in the state and to complete them within the time limit at any cost. He said that the accountability of the concerned departments should be fixed and it should also be reviewed from time to time. The Chief Minister mentioned that there is a target to build 3 thousand Gou-Shalas in the state during the next year. In this regard, complete planning, selection of construction sites and all the procedures should be completed by December 2019. Shri Kamal Nath was reviewing the ‘Project Gou-Shala’ at Mantralaya today. The campaign being conducted by the government to protect abandoned cows and stray cows was named as ‘Mukhya Mantri Gou-Seva Yojana’ in the meeting. The Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath stated that the problems being faced by the common man due to the abandoned cows and stray animals should be resolved on priority. He said that problems in the construction of Gou-Shalas should be brought to his notice, so that they could be addressed immediately. No lack of funds should hamper the construction. Shri Kamal Nath stressed on the need for better coordination between Rural Development department, entrusted with a task for building and operating Gou-Shals and Animal Husbandry Department so that all the work could be done with fast pace and without any hindrance. The Chief Minister sought the information about the construction of Gou-Shalas and initiative taken by the private sector for cow protection. Shri Kamal Nath gave his consent for using the fund of fodder given to the Animal Husbandry department by the Mandi Board, in other activities of cow protection. The Minister for Animal Husbandry Shri Lakhan Singh Yadav, Minister for Urban Development and Housing Shri Jaivardhan Singh, Chief Secretary Shri S.R. Mohanty, Additional Chief Secretary Forest Shri A.P. Shrivastava, Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Smt. Gouri Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Animal Husbandry Shri Manoj Shrivastava, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Shri Anurag Jain and Commissioner Urban Development Shri P. Narhari as well as concerned officers were present at the meeting.
