Special “City Walk Festival’ in 11 cities on Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day

Bhopal, October 30, 2019 (Ataullah Faizan): On the occasion of 64th Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day, a special ‘City Walk Festival’ will be organised on November 01 in 11 cities of the state. These cities include Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Panna, Vidisha, Khajuraho, Chanderi, Jabalpur, Burhanpur and Orchha. The Heritage City Walk in Bhopal will commence at 7.00 a.m. from Kamla Park and culminate at Sadar Manzil after traversing through Gouhar Mahal and Iqbal Maidan. This walk is being organized by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board in collaboration with Panel Agency City Explorer, New Delhi and District Archeology and Tourism Council. The Secretary Tourism Shri Faiz Ahmed Qidwai has informed that the City Walk Festival is being organized to promote the tourism activities. Through this, the tourists will come to know about the heritage, history, culture and traditions of the state. The Tourism Secretary has urged the people to participate in the City Walk Festival. Under the ‘City Walk Festival’ being organized in the state since October 12, the City Walk is being organized simultaneously in 11 cities at every weekend. So far, over 50 walks have already been organized in which over 1000 participants have taken part.The most interesting experiences include Food Walk in Indore, Photo Walk and Museum Tour in Bhopal, Food Walk and Boat Ride in Jabalpur, Diamond Exploration Walk in Panna, Spiritual Walk in Ujjain, Nature Walk in Vidisha and many other walks. People of all age groups have appreciated this event of tourism. Everyone has experienced that this is really a great way to learn about their city. Residents of these cities, who have been dwelling in the city and its surrounding areas for many years and many who have been living here for all their lifetime, also said that they were completely unaware of the importance of the city’s buildings and traditions. They have been able to know their city because of the Heritage Walk.
