President’s rule in Maharashtra under pressure from PM Modi, Amit Shah: Digvijaya Singh

Bhopal, November 13, 2019 (Muslim Saleem): Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh has objected to the imposition of President’s rule in Maharashtra. Digvijay said, ‘The first thing is that the process started by the Governor of Maharashtra was correct. First the largest party, then the second party was invited to form the government. The third largest party was given time to form the government by 8.30 pm. Then what happened that in the afternoon, he recommended the Central Government to implement President’s rule. Whatever the rules and regulations are, according to which there is no clear majority, the largest party should be allowed to form the government. Although BJP did not adopt this process in Goa, Manipur, Meghalaya, but adopted it here. Then the change which has taken place at the last moment is definitely under the pressure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. We object to this. ‘
