CM Kamal Nath’s directives to prepare plan for bamboo production on private land also

Bhopal, November 14, 2019 (Muslim Saleem): The Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath in a meeting of Bamboo Mission held at Mantralaya today, said that bamboo should be made a source of employment and income in the state. There is a need to make special efforts in this direction. He instructed to prepare a plan for bamboo production on private land along with bamboo plantation in forest and rural areas. The Minister for Forest Shri Umang Singhar and Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Shri Kamleshwar Patel were present at the meeting. The Chief Minister said that through bamboo production in the state, we can increase the income of the farmers and provide employment at large scale to the unemployed people. He said that a large market of bamboo products is available throughout the world. Systematic efforts should be made to ensure that Madhya Pradesh gets its benefit. The Chief Minister said that in the bamboo production, attention should be paid on the quality of bamboo required by the industries connected with it. He directed to prepare a plan for bamboo production in accordance with the requirement of the industry to encourage bamboo industries. The Chief Secretary Shri S.R. Mohanty, Additional Chief Secretary Forest Shri A.P. Shrivastava, Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Smt. Gauri Singh, APCCF (Retd.) Dr. A.K. Bhattacharya , Bamboo professional Shri Subhash Bhatia and officers concerned were present at the meeting.
