Abdul Jabbar, who spent his life fighting for the rights of Bhopal gas victims, is no more

Bhopal, November 15, 2019 (Muslim Saleem): Abdul Jabbar, a social activist who spent his life fighting for the rights of gas victims, passed away at around 10:15 pm on Thursday night. Seriously ill Jabbar was undergoing treatment in a private hospital for the past few days. In the afternoon, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh reached the hospital and inquired about his health.
Later Digvijay assured his family that the government would bear the entire cost of treatment. In the evening, Chief Minister Kamal Nath also tweeted and asked to send Jabbar to Mumbai for treatment. After this, Chief Secretary SR Mohanty rushed to the hospital to see him.
Dr. Abbas, who is treating him, said that Jabbar was a heart patient. He also had diabetes. He came to HeartAttack twice on Thursday nights at 9 and 10, causing him to die. He also fought a long battle against the encroachment on Yadgare Shah Jahanni Park.
Jabbar was associated with the organization of the victims of the 1984 gas tragedy and spent a lifetime trying to get her rights.
