5 percent reservation for players in Madhya Pradesh govt jobs: Jitu Patwari

Gwalior/Bhopal, November 23, 2019 (Muslim Saleem): Players will now get 5 percent reservation in government jobs in Madhya Pradesh. Under-16 Provincial Olympics will be started to nurture sports talent at school level. State Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Jitu Patwari made this announcement during the inauguration of the Provincial Olympic Games at Kampu Sports Complex in Gwalior on Saturday.
Patwari said – even after winning medals in the Games at international and national level, players have to be deprived of their jobs. He said that according to the intention of the Chief Minister, in the new sports policy, arrangements are being made that sportspersons can get 5 percent reservation in government jobs. Patwari said that children from all CBSE, government and private schools would be involved in the Under 16 Provincial Olympics.
He said that right now the Games are being organized in the provincial Olympics for talent selection only for children above 16 years of age group. It consists of 10 sports- hockey, basketball, football, volleyball, kabaddi, kho-kho, athletics, wrestling, badminton and table tennis. Patwari inspected the Ambedkar Stadium in Morena district and inquired about the arrangements made for the players.
He spoke to the youth getting trained at the stadium, especially the youth preparing for army recruitment. On the request of the players to reduce the fees of the stadium’s gym, Patwari directed to reduce the fee from Rs 300 per person to Rs 100.
