Complete ban on sale of tribal’s land to non-tribal: CM Shri Kamal Nath
29th November 2019
Even Collectors cannot give permission for this Bhopal, November 29, 2019 (Ataullah Faizan):The Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath said that rumours and confusion which have been spread pertaining to permission for sale of tribal’s land to non-tribal in the notified areas are completely false. No such decision has been taken by the State Government. There is still a complete ban on sale of tribal’s land to non-tribal. The Government is committed to protect all the interests of the tribals. The Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath said that confusion is being spread that the Madhya Pradesh government has allowed the sale of tribal’s land to non-tribals in the notified areas. It is being spread by vested selfish elements, which is not only untrue but baseless. In Madhya Pradesh, neither there is permission to sale tribal’s land to non-tribal nor any change has been made in this provision. As per the section 165 of the Land Revenue Code in the notified tribal areas of the state, there is a complete ban on selling the land of a tribal to a non-tribal and even the collector of the district cannot allow it. The Madhya Pradesh government is committed to protect all the interests of the tribals and will never take any step which is not in the interest of the tribals of the state. The Chief Minister further said that an ordinary change that has been made by the government, on which the confusion and rumours are being spread, is that only the time-frame, which was there for the diversion after the purchase of non-tribal’s land by non-tribals in the notified areas has been abolished.
