Madhya Pradesh honey trap: ED seeks information from SIT

Bhopal, November 30, 2019 (Ataullah Faizan): Central Investigation Agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) has now been entered in the Honeytrap case. The ED has sought information from the SIT probing the case regarding the cash transactions of crores of rupees by the accused women from the leaders and officers. The ED has asked how much money has been exchanged between the accused women and the alleged politicians-officers in Honey Trap. Was cash paid between all of them?
The accused filed a petition in the court
Honey Trap accused Monika Yadav and Shweta Vijay Jain have filed the first Indore court and later the High Court petition after the alleged video-audio of Laxmikant Sharma, an minister in the BJP government and an IAS officer went viral recently. The accused have demanded that the leaked videos should be banned immediately. The High Court is scheduled to hear the matter on 2 December.
Video of another officer viral
So far, two videos have gone viral on social media amid the investigation of the Honeytrap case. An IAS officer’s CDR report and audio calling have surfaced. However, so far SIT has not confirmed any authenticity of the video. The SIT has definitely expanded the scope of investigation. The SIT has issued some notices after the video went viral. It is being investigated how the videos are being leaked.
That’s why ED has to interfere
In the investigation of this case, the facts were revealed that the accused women had received complaints of taking cash of Rs 50 lakh from one officer while giving cash of up to three crore rupees by another officer by threatening to make objectionable videos viral. The ED has therefore initiated an investigation into these transactions
